Shubman Gill’s sensational form has made him a top contender for the ICC Player of the Month award. The Indian batter scored 406 runs in February, with an average over 100. This performance was key to India’s strong win against England in the ODI series.
Gill kept up his great performance in the Champions Trophy 2025. He led India to a win over Bangladesh, scoring 101 not out from 129 balls. His consistency also helped him regain the No. 1 ranking in the ICC Men’s ODI Batter Rankings last month.
Glenn Phillips (New Zealand) Shines in Champions Trophy
Glenn Phillips from New Zealand has stood out in February. He has shown his strong all-around skills. The Kiwi batter shone in the Tri-Nation Series in Pakistan. He had explosive performances.
He kept his momentum going into the Champions Trophy 2025. There, he hit 61 runs off 39 balls against Pakistan. Phillips has scored 143 runs in four innings. His strike rate is 140.20, and his average is 71.50. This makes him a strong contender for the award.
Steve Smith (Australia) Delivers a Test Cricket Masterclass
Veteran Australian batter Steve Smith was key to Australia’s World Test Championship win against Sri Lanka in Galle. He displayed his batting skills with 141 runs in the first Test. Then, he scored 131 in the second Test. These performances helped Australia sweep the series.
Smith also made news off the field. He said he is retiring from ODI cricket after Australia was knocked out of the 2025 Champions Trophy.
