Batting Coach Praises KL Rahul Adaptability
KL Rahul batting position has been a topic of debate in recent years. He has done well in many roles. However, changes in the order have affected his consistency. However, in the ongoing Champions Trophy, Rahul has settled into the No. 6 position, proving his worth as both a wicketkeeper and a middle-order anchor.
Batting coach Sitanshu Kotak praised Rahul’s flexibility. He said it plays a big role in India’s success.
“He is someone who can open, someone who can go at 4 or 5, and someone who is doing what number 6 is demanding. He adapts well, and he is very happy in the role he is performing…When he starts performing at that number, that obviously helps him also, because it is a different situation he is going in. So, that is great for the team as well,” he said.
He further added:
“But whatever I have spoken to him, he is happy to do whatever the team requires, and he has been doing that,” he added.
KL Rahul Impact at No. 6
For a long time, India experimented with Rahul in various positions, but his record at No. 5 stands out, where he has scored over 1,000 runs at an average above 50. However, his recent shift to No. 6 during the Champions Trophy has made him a reliable middle-order batter.
