ENG vs AUS: Steve Smith Wins Toss, Australia to Bowl First
The long-awaited Champions Trophy 2025 match between Australia and England is now underway. It’s taking place at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, and the date is February 22. Australian skipper Steve Smith won the toss and opted to bowl first, citing evening dew as a key factor.
Steve Smith on the Toss Decision:
“We are going to have a bowl. Looks a pretty good surface. There was a bit of dew in the evening, when we were training. So we will have a bowl. “
Meanwhile, England captain Jos Buttler admitted they had also considered batting first.
Jos Buttler on England’s Batting First:
“Yeah, we would have batted first as well. Was 50-50. But it looks a good surface. (On announcing XI two days ago) We are not hiding anything. We are confident in the guys and we are really excited for the game.”
