Champions Trophy 2025 Rules and Scoring Mechanism Explained

The Champions Trophy 2025 rules explain how participants earn points. They score points based on predictions made before and during matches. This guide shows the official rules, point distribution, and how to track the leaderboard. This will help keep the competition fair.

Gameplay Overview

Prediction Timing

  • You can submit predictions before the match begins or in the first 5 overs of the first innings.

  • Predictions submitted after the match starts receive fewer points.

  • Once submitted, predictions cannot be edited.

Prediction Options

  • Each question offers 2-4 answer choices.

  • The ‘Aramco Player of the Match’ prediction includes all 22 players from both teams.

Scoring Mechanism

1. Users Predicting Before the Match Starts

Eligibility:

  • Users submitting predictions before the scheduled match time.

Rewards:

  • Correct prediction: 20 points per question

  • Incorrect prediction: 0 points per question

Reasoning:

  • Early predictions are harder to make because there’s no match context. So, they earn more points.

2. Users Predicting After the Match Starts

Eligibility:

  • Users submitting predictions within the first 5 overs of the first innings.

Rewards:

  • Correct prediction: 15 points per question

  • Incorrect prediction: 0 points per question

Reasoning:

  • Late predictions provide some match insights, so fewer points are awarded for fairness.

3. Leaderboard System

The Champions Trophy 2025 features three leaderboards:

  1. Overall Leaderboard – Tracks cumulative points across all matches.

  2. Matchwise Leaderboard – Displays points earned in a single match.

  3. Aramco Player of the Match Leaderboard – It ranks fans based on how well they predict the Player of the Match.

4. Late Onboarding Rules

Definition:

  • Predictions submitted within the first 5 overs of the first innings.

Rules:

  • Predictions can be edited until submission.

  • Once submitted, they cannot be changed.

  • Correct predictions earn 15 points instead of 20.
