1. Mayank Yadav (Lucknow Super Giants):

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have retained Indian fast bowler Mayank Yadav for Rs 11 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. But according to ESPN Cricinfo report, the 22-year-old bowler, who made his debut for India last year, will not be able to play in the first half of IPL 2025. Mayank is currently recovering from a lumbar stress injury (back injury) and has recently started bowling again at the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru.
2. Josh Hazlewood (Royal Challengers Bangalore):

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bought Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood for Rs 12.50 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. However, there is still doubt about his fitness and playing in the IPL. It is not yet decided when his recovery will be complete.
3. Jasprit Bumrah (Mumbai Indians):

Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was retained by Mumbai Indians for Rs 18 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. Bumrah, 31, has been out of cricket since January due to a back injury. Although he has started bowling again, according to reports, he will miss the first two weeks of IPL 2025 as he is still in his recovery process. His absence has raised questions about his overall fitness, but Mumbai Indians are hopeful that he will return soon.
4. Mitchell Marsh (Lucknow Super Giants):

Australia’s T20I captain Mitchell Marsh was bought by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for Rs 3.40 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. But Marsh may be out of the start of the upcoming season due to a persistent back problem. He is suffering from lower back pain and dysfunction, due to which he was also ruled out of the Champions Trophy 2025. It is now being speculated that his injury may also impact his availability for IPL 2025. The start of the tournament is drawing near, and concerns remain over Marsh’s recovery and whether he will be able to get fit in time to play for LSG.
5. Hardik Pandya (Mumbai Indians):

Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya will miss the first match of IPL 2025 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on March 23. Hardik, who captained MI last season, was handed a one-match suspension after Mumbai’s last group match against LSG due to slow over rate in IPL 2024. Due to this, he will not be eligible for selection for the first match of the new season. Mumbai will have to play the first match without their star captain.
There is no clear information yet about Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)’s Jacob Bethell playing in IPL 2025. His recovery time is not clear yet, and as the season is approaching, it is uncertain whether he will be fit for RCB in the opening matches.
