Shock to KKR before IPL 2025! Umran Malik out of IPL, this pacer gets a chance
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has added Chetan Sakariya to the team in place of Umran Malik for the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Sakariya was in the KKR team last year as well, but he did not play a single match and the franchise released him before the auction. Earlier also, Chetan has been a part of Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders apart from Rajasthan Royals in the IPL.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has added Chetan Sakariya to the team in place of Umran Malik for the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Umran Malik is out of this season due to his injury.

Sakariya has represented India in one ODI and two T20 matches and has played 19 IPL matches, in which he has taken 20 wickets. Left-arm medium pacer Sakariya joined KKR for Rs 75 lakh.
Sakariya was in the KKR team last year as well, but he did not play a single match and was released by the franchise before the auction. Earlier also, Chetan has been a part of Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders apart from Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. Now it remains to be seen how Chetan, who is struggling with poor form, can capitalize on this opportunity.

Earlier, Umran Malik expressed happiness after joining KKR in the mega-auction. He played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last two seasons but his performance was disappointing. After joining KKR, Umran had promised the fans that this time they would get to see a new form of him. Umran had insisted that he is 200 percent fit.
