Captain Statements:

Harmanpreet Kaur: Confident in Batting First
Mumbai Indians Women’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur feels sure about her team. She believes they can set a strong target.
“It’s a good wicket to bat on. 180 were scored in the last game. We are okay to bat first. We just want to enjoy our cricket. Good to see some good performances from our batters. We want to continue with the same.We have also got results playing positive cricket and we will look to do the same today. We are playing with the same XI.”
With players like Nat Sciver-Brunt and Hayley Matthews in top form, Mumbai aims to set a strong total.
Meg Lanning: Backing Bowlers for Early Breakthroughs
Delhi Capitals Women’s captain Meg Lanning chose to bowl first. She pointed to past success with this strategy at the venue.
“We’re going to have a bowl tonight—it seemed to work well at this venue. We executed it well the other night, so looking forward to getting out there again tonight.
First and foremost, it’s about focusing on tonight and putting in a strong performance. Coming up against Mumbai always makes for a great battle, so we’re not looking too far ahead. In this competition, you have to be at your best to secure a win, and we feel confident heading into tonight.
Yeah, I think we’ve got great depth and don’t rely on just one or two players—we’ve already seen that throughout this tournament. Different players have stepped up at different times, which is really important. T20 is a fickle game—some days it’s your day, some days it’s not. But having multiple players contributing when it matters makes a big difference, and I feel like we’ve done that well.
Yeah, I think there’s a bit in the wicket early on with the new ball. We have two excellent frontline bowlers in Shikha Pandey and Kapp, so we try to maximize that as much as possible. But ultimately, getting the ball in the right areas is crucial. We are going with the same team.”
