RCB Pull Off Record WPL 2025 Chase as Richa Ghosh, Ellyse Perry Shine Against Gujarat Giants
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) made WPL history in 2025. They achieved the highest successful run chase. They beat the Gujarat Giants by six wickets in Vadodara. Richa Ghosh scored 64 runs off 27 balls, and Ellyse Perry added 57 off 34. Together, they helped RCB easily chase down Gujarat’s target of 202 runs.
Perry, Ghosh Anchor RCB After Early Collapse
RCB got off to a rough start at 14/2 in the second over. Ashleigh Gardner took out both Smriti Mandhana (9) and Danny Wyatt (4) in just four balls. Perry and Raghavi Bist scored 25 runs off 27 balls. They helped stabilize the innings with an 86-run partnership for the third wicket.
Perry, dropped on 19, capitalized on the lifeline, punishing Gujarat’s erratic bowling. She reached her fifty off just 27 balls with a six off Deandra Dottin but fell to Sayali Satghare soon after.
Ghosh, Ahuja Seal the Win in Style
With RCB still needing 93 runs, Ghosh took charge, smashing a blistering 23-ball fifty. Teaming up with Kanika Ahuja (30* off 13), they broke down Gujarat’s bowlers. They scored 93 runs and won with an over left. RCB scored 64 runs in the last five overs, completing the chase at 206/4.

Gardner, Mooney Shine in Gujarat’s 201/5
Gujarat Giants scored 201/5. Beth Mooney hit 56 runs off 42 balls, while Gardner made 79 runs off 37 balls. Mooney took on a traditional anchor role. Meanwhile, Gardner launched an aggressive attack, hitting eight sixes.
Gardner and Dottin (25 off 13) added 67 runs in five overs, accelerating Gujarat’s total. However, their efforts fell short against RCB’s dominant chase.
RCB’s win sets an exciting tone for the WPL 2025 season. Ghosh and Perry both shined with great performances.
