Captains’ Reactions Before the Match

Deepti Sharma (UP Warriorz Captain):

“Obviously, it is a special day so feeling good. But at the same time, we are sad that we failed to qualify for the next round. We want to work hard for the next year. We have made 2 changes. Poonam Khemrar and Anjali Sarvani are playing in place of Vrinda Dinesh and Gouher Sultana. We have tried a lot of combinations depending on conditions. But we have tried what our best XI is and focused on what we can do better as a team. Yeah, Super Over, how can we forget that. It was the first Super Over. We will always remember that.”

Smriti Mandhana (RCB Women Captain):

“We will like to field first today. It was a good week off. We had a few team bonding sessions. We have two changes today. Charlie (Dean) comes in for Danni (Wyatt-Hodge) and (Sabbhineni) Meghana comes in for Ekta (Bisht). We have played some good cricket in the tournament, but we have not been able to string together the complete game. Hopefully, we can do that today for the fans. We were in a similar situation in the last season too. It is about staying calm and positive. We have a good positive bunch of girls. Hopefully we can do well today.”
